“HOPE” in design refers to the belief in the potential of design to create positive change, improve lives, and promote a sense of optimism about the future. It reflects that design needs to meet functional needs, inspire, and uplift. The HOPE exhibition brings together 31 designer brands to present their work under four concepts: ( H ) uman-Centered Design: Emphasizes understanding the needs, desires, and limitations of end-users. By placing users at the forefront, designers can create solutions that foster hope and improve lives. ( O ) ptimistic Design: Focuses on positive outcomes from designing products, services, or systems. This means creating designs that not only solve problems but also enhance well-being and promote sustainability. ( P ) roblem-Solving: Uses design as a powerful tool to address social, environmental, and economic challenges. Hopeful design processes aim to tackle these issues creatively and effectively, inspiring communities and individuals. ( E ) mpowerment: Believes that design can empower individuals by giving them tools and resources that enable them to create change in their lives. This empowerment can foster a sense of hope for the future.
