The AAU A MATT-ER OF TIME project is a special furniture design exhibition by 5th-year students of the Interior Architecture Department, Faculty of Architecture and Design, Assumption University, in collaboration with leading manufacturing brands such as QURV, Mat-er, and Kochuu. The highlight is the use of historical Western design identity to create modern designs that meet the lifestyles of the new generation. It also serves as a platform for new-generation designers to think outside the box, approach every problem positively, and transition from classroom limitations to real production processes, while elevating the value of old works. The exhibition, titled ‘Old Stories – New Stories,’ includes a seminar to convey the inspiration behind each design piece, which incorporates many disciplines. The works are presented inside the Baan Wang Derm Hotel, located in the Wat Arun District, Baan Wang Derm Road, Wat Arun Subdistrict, Bangkok Yai District. This old building from the Thonburi era is situated near the Chao Phraya River, in the same area as Fort Wichaiprasit and the mouth of Khlong Bangkok Yai. Therefore, viewers will experience the warmth of an old house that was once an original community and a cultural tourist area on the Thonburi side. Nearby, there are also old temples and riverside communities, which are ideal for organizing creative programs.
