neutralmade

People Place Piman

“Neutralmade” is a group of students from the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, who share an interest in exploring positive perspectives on themselves, society, and the city. As a derivation of Neutralmade, the group seeks to create a view grounded in neutrality and the realities of society. By interpreting positive thinking, the designers present a concept that reflects the young generation’s negative perceptions on the city in which they live and grow. Many young people feel that the city no longer offers a suitable environment for their growth. In response, the designers aim to curate an exhibition that creates a space where the younger generation can be impressed and also ignite visitors’ curiosity, encouraging them to reflect on where their negative views and disappointment with the city stem from. Through various activities and imagery showcasing the beauty of the city in the exhibition, the designers intend to help visitors reshape their perspectives and spark a hope on people, the city, and the nation. The designers have depicted those ideas into four activities, each representing elements of the city and the negative perspective on urban conditions. These activities will guide participants through an introspective journey, moving from individual reflection to group of people, society, and envisioning the city within their minds. In the end, the designers hope that the visitors would walk away with hope and a positive perspective on their beloved city.
