Roots Rewind Exhibition

Project Roots Rewind is design by Yellowsponge and Play Space Cafe. The SalakHin Alley community, located in the Hua Lamphong area, is rich with cultural stories and beliefs that have been passed down for generations. One of the important traditions in this community is folding joss paper for ceremonies to worship gods and ancestors on significant days or during festivals. This practice is not just a ritual; it also reflects the love, connection, and faith in ancestors and sacred entities held by the community members. Additionally, paper folding for worship serves as an occupation for many people here. The concept of the “Roots Rewind Project” is to present the story of joss paper and the beliefs of the community from various perspectives. Designers, creators, and photographers showcase their work through different media, creating diverse dimensions and perspectives for visitors. The Yellowsponge team would like to inform everyone that the “Roots Rewind Project” was created with the good intentions of many people in the SalakHin Alley community. The Yellowsponge team aims to be a small part of this effort to help develop the Hua Lamphong area into a creative community through sustainable creative work.
