Peace and harmony have simple beginnings—just by sharing and dining together. Human evolution, culture, and society all emerged from gathering around meals, leading to countless shared stories. The “Plate of Love” exhibition invites viewers to revisit the memories of joyful dishes cherished by artists, chefs, and designers, through flavors reimagined and reinterpreted into works of art, presented in lacquerware vessels that encapsulate love and memories. This exhibition is a collaboration between Thailand and Japan, reflecting friendship and unity. It is supported by partners including Wancher from Japan and Blue Elephant restaurant from Thailand, showcasing the cooperation between lacquerware artisans from Chiang Mai and Wajima, a city affected by the 2021 earthquake. Through eight works inspired by the interpretation of flavors, cuisine, and art in new forms, the exhibition aims to elevate Thai cuisine into High Culture, rich in refinement.
