เผยแพร่เมื่อ 2 months ago

When you hear the name Joebongo (Joe – Natathan Saengchai), you might think of the Station Director at Salmon Podcast or the host of the podcast Myth Universe. But did you know he also plays a vital role as a father, raising his 6-year-old son and guiding him through life and learning?

We invited Joe to share his top picks for family-friendly activities at Bangkok Design Week 2025. His recommendations are perfect for families seeking activities to enjoy and grow together.

“The importance of family activities is that they spark conversations between family members. It’s not about achieving anything grand but about having a challenge to solve together. Families can experiment, talk, and find ways for children to learn something through the process.”

Joe’s selected programs focus on fostering family collaboration and shared experiences. This year’s Bangkok Design Week offers new activities for all ages, from music and playgrounds to workshops where kids can explore the imaginative and positive world of design.

For families looking for uplifting activities, Joebongo’s highlights promise both fun and learning opportunities for everyone. Get ready to enjoy meaningful family moments together!

“The first program I picked is a workshop by Saratta, where leaves are used to create miniature prints. I think my son would enjoy this because he’s starting to show interest in using natural materials to create art and exploring textures and patterns in nature. This workshop seems to match his personality and interests perfectly.”

The miniature printmaking workshop, using leaves and flowers, is part of the ‘City of Hope’ series by Saratta. This program focuses on learning through hands-on activities, turning small, everyday items into works of art. It’s an excellent opportunity for families and children to explore art through creativity and hands-on experiences.

Beyond hands-on activities helping children understand and enhance their imagination, Joe believes these experiences encourage new experiments that benefit both child development and family relationships.

“This program involves assembling different parts, which I think is great for letting kids use their hands to build or create based on their imagination. Even if it doesn;t turn into something tangible or familiar, children can still get to explore their creativity, which is exciting and valuable.”

One such program Joe recommends is ‘Piece[by]Piece’ by SUPERNATURES. This engaging activity allows families to work together creatively through play, learning, and experimenting with assembling various parts. Whether it’s crafting everyday items or creating artworks for an exhibition, this program is perfect for families looking for meaningful and fun activities to enjoy together.

“I think the Bang Pho Wood Street program is also interesting. It’s a market offering materials for DIY wood projects or toys, with guidance from professional carpenters. Activities like painting wooden blocks or turning them into new creations could really inspire children’s imagination. I think it’s great for children.”

The Creative Bangpho(sitive) program brings together shops from the famous wood street in Bang Pho, offering materials at special prices for DIY wood projects or toy-making. With professional carpenters providing advice, participants can learn art and design through hands-on experience and expert guidance, making it an excellent option for families seeking creative activities.

“Workshops need to focus on hands-on experiences. Activities that involve physical interaction, like handling and building, can foster better communication within families. It encourages more conversations and collaboration, helping families create the best results together.”
