The organization of “Insight Tour @ Wat Pho” by Wat Pho’s Monks and Chulalongkorn University’s students who will guide visitors to use the application “Insight Wat Pho,” to turn their mobile phone into their travel buddy and enjoy exploring Wat Pho. The visitors will learn about the history, architecture, arts and crafts, and beliefs in Buddhism and Thai culture through audio narration and descriptions (Thai and English), as well as pictures, and augmented reality (AR) technology. They will also see Wat Pho in a different view they have never seen, reminisce about the place through vintage photos, seek and catch “Yak Wat Pho” and solve the riddle poems inscribed on the Epigraphic Archives of Wat Pho which UNESCO registered as the Memory of the World. The application is now available on smart phones and tablets, both iOS and Android. This activity is, therefore, suitable for tourists, students, and the general public, both Thais and foreigners.
