Timber City is Nikken Sekkei’s vision of a city that has developed AI, robotics, and smart city technologies and, most importantly, is economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable. We think that our vision aligns perfectly with the concept of Bangkok Design Week 2023, “urban’NICE’zation.” Timber Interface Pavilion by Nikken Sekkei Thailand shall mimic a metropolis constructed with wood by the Timber Interface system in miniature, representing the atmosphere of a future city where wood is the main material. The wood would be eco-friendly, sylvan and is both physically and mentally comfortable. Our pavilion will also present supporting projects and research by Nikken Sekkei to show how Timber City would support sustainability.
