SYEP 2020

Gliving & Pravel

Through cooperation between the International Affairs Office of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Fukuoka prefecture, Japan, the Specialized Youth Exchange Program (SYEP) has initiated projects to develop both Bangkok and Fukuoka city with the ultimate aim of improving well-being for their citizens. In an era of endless urban expansion and an abundance of skyscrapers, the balance of public spaces has begun to deteriorate. The “Gliving” project encourages city dwellers to make more use of public spaces. The "Gliving" web app calls upon locals in Fukuoka and Bangkok to explore the public spaces in their city and to make their own discoveries. At the same time, Gliving helps the government and entrepreneurs to gain more revenue and recognition. The Pravel app encourages people to travel in Bangkok and Fukuoka by suggesting tourist attractions and encouraging people to do various activities through the app. This allows the user to collect stamps that can be redeemed for prizes. Pravel helps people to explore other activities and aims to create a sustainable circular economy.
