The past 2 years have been a period of huge change for every person from all walks of life, in Thailand and worldwide. The unforeseen pandemic has affected the way of life and consumption which includes the survival of businesses during the period of extreme economic change. Many went out of business and their stability was shaken. On the other hand, a handful of businesses grew because those who will survive are those who are fast to adapt, accept change, and move past their familiarity. Bangkok Design Week 2022 theme this year ‘Co With Creation’ captures the context with a powerful idea that suits the present. The group of new and experienced designers come together under the name of ‘Design Plant’, they believe that creativity and cooperation are what keep the business survive. Design Plant ‘express’ focuses on the ideas of consumers’ needs and new forms of marketing that directly affect designs. By working on addressing the following issues : - Designers who want to participate are to produce work that can be posted via mail with the dimensions set by the organiser. - Designers can choose to produce work from 1 of 4 big categories in an online market with high sales revenue. The categories are mother and child, electrical appliances, beauty, and household items. The Goal for the designers to be able to work on mainstream issues and understand the solution to the growth and survival of such a profession is knowing what the market needs. Using creativity to add value to the products creates awareness and moulds the young blood designer to strengthen their potential for the business and industry sectors which includes the Thai design scene. In the long run, this exhibition aims to inspire business owners who visit to understand the importance of creativity and be able to apply it to the business on their own.
